New head coach Kyle Whittingham and tight ends coach Freddie Whittingham prioritized Lumpris despite his pledge to the Crimson Tide. Those efforts were rewarded on Saturday with his flip to the Wolverines. With Lumpris now committed, Michigan has 15 total commitments in the 2027 cycle, with Lumpris being the first tight end.
