Scottie Scheffler Could Accomplish Rare Tiger Woods Feat at CJ Cup Byron Nelson
Scottie Scheffler could accomplish a rare feat last achieved by Tiger Woods with a victory at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Sunday.
After the third round of the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Si Woo Kim holds a two-shot lead at 21-under par heading into Sunday’s final round. Trailing Kim in a tie for second are Wyndham Clark and defending champion Scottie Scheffler, who is looking to go back-to-back at the event. Scheffler fired a 6-under round on Saturday to put himself in position for a likely spot in the final pairing and now sits on the verge of a rare piece of golf history.
According to the PGA Tour , Scheffler could become the first player since Tiger Woods in 2007 to successfully defend a tournament title after winning the event by eight strokes the previous year. Woods accomplished the feat at the WGC-Workday Championship at The Concession.
