Photo by Chris Unger/TKO Worldwide LLC via Getty Images Terence Crawford has turned heads with his wrestling skills, showing off some impressive moves during a grappling session with Jai Opetaia. Since stepping away from boxing last year, Crawford has kept a low profile, staying out of the limelight. His last appearance in the ring was an unexpected jump up to super-middleweight to face Canelo Alvarez.
That win made him one of the few fighters to ever hold undisputed titles in two different weight classes. Crawford is currently in Egypt and staying involved in fight week for Oleksandr Usyk’s heavyweight clash against kickboxing veteran Rico Verhoeven. He posted a new video on social media showing how easily he was able to handle Opetaia during their session.

He wrestled during his high school years in Nebraska, and he’s said before that those skills helped him out when he made the switch to boxing. He’s joked about trying his hand at MMA before, though he’s mentioned that it’s the kicking side of things, not the grappling, that would give him the most trouble.
This time, Crawford was in Giza with Opetaia. With the pyramids in the background, they had a bit of fun on camera, ending with Crawford picking up the much larger man. Both fighters were left laughing after what happened.
Opetaia fights at cruiserweight and stands five inches taller than Crawford, who came into his last bout just under 168 pounds. After their playful exchange, Opetaia laughed it off by saying he wasn’t ready for it and accused Crawford of cheating.
