IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals sign Emanjot Chahal as Ravi Singh replacement
Rajasthan Royals have signed all-rounder Emanjot Chahal as a replacement for the injured Ravi Singh ahead of their crucial IPL 2026 finale against Mumbai Indians. This match is vital for the Royals' playoff aspirations, as a win would secure them a spot. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians aim to avoid finishing last.
NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Royals on Saturday signed Emanjot Chahal as a replacement for injured Ravi Singh ahead of their final IPL 2026 league match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Ravi Singh has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament with a hamstring injury. Emanjot, a young all-rounder from Patiala, has a highest score of 83 in First-Class cricket and has also picked up 11 wickets in three matches.
The left-arm spinner has joined Rajasthan Royals for Rs 30 lakh. The Royals, currently on 14 points, will take on already-eliminated Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in a must-win clash to keep their playoff hopes alive. While RR are fighting for a place in the playoffs, Mumbai Indians will look to salvage pride and avoid finishing at the bottom of the points table.
The result of the match could decide the fourth and final playoff spot. If Rajasthan Royals win, they will move to 16 points, which would put them beyond the reach of Punjab Kings, who are on 13 points and can reach a maximum of 15 by winning their final league game against Lucknow Super Giants. A victory would also help five-time champions Mumbai Indians avoid the wooden spoon, as they are currently tied with LSG on eight points but have a superior net run rate.
