After a 32-point and 10-assist outing against the Washington Wizards last Friday, Clark became the first player in WNBA history to record 30+ points and 10+ assists in multiple games. On Friday, the former Iowa star made WNBA history again following an outstanding 22-point and nine-assist performance in a 90-82 victory against the Golden State Valkyries . “Caitlin Clark is now the first player in WNBA history to record 20 points and five assists in each of the first five games of a season,” FeverStats wrote on X/Twitter.
Clark, who missed the Fever’s Wednesday night contest vs. the Portland Fire due to a back injury, picked up right where she left off in Indiana’s latest clash. The 24-year-old phenom dazzled with deep triples, showcased her elite distributing chops on the move, and made timely plays down the stretch to help the Fever secure a come-from-behind 90-82 victory over Golden State (the Valkyries led by seven at the break but were outscored 53- 38 in the second half).
Turnovers remain a significant issue for Clark, though, as she committed six of them in the Fever’s eight-point win. On the bright side, Clark didn’t make crucial mistakes in crunch time, allowing the Fever to come out victorious on their home floor.
