Former Dolphins QB continues contract dispute with new team

Yahoo Sports

One of the Miami Dolphins former quarterbacks is set to start for an NFC West team in 2026, but he wants a new contract.

Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Jacoby Brissett spent the 2021 season in South Florida and played with the Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders since then before signing with the Arizona Cardinals last year. After starting 12 games for Arizona last year, the Cardinals released former top pick Kyler Murray, leaving Brissett as the expected starter again. However, Brissett is looking for a new contract, and according to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss , the two sides are very far apart.

Brissett is set to play on the second year of a two-year deal that he signed last year, which will pay him between $4. 88 million and $5. 39 million, with $1.

5 million guaranteed. Arizona will hold their organized team activities next week, which are voluntary, but their mandatory minicamp will be held June 8-10. If Brissett isn't on the field by then, it's officially a holdout.
