4 Panthers from 2025 roster remain unsigned as NFL teams kick off OTAs
A handful of players from the Panthers' 2025 roster remain unsigned heading into 2026 OTAs.
The Carolina Panthers did quite a bit of work to retain the depth of their 2025 NFC South-winning squad this offseason. In addition to their splashy signings of linebackers Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd, the front office retained 14 of their own free agentsโincluding wide receivers Jalen Coker and Brycen Tremayne, safety Nick Scott, punter Sam Martin and long snapper JJ Jansen. But as we're inching closer to the start of their organized team activities , a handful of Panthers from last year's roster still remained unsigned.
Those players are as follows: OL Brady Christensen OL Jake Curhan LB Krys Barnes CB Damarri Mathis Christensen, a former third-round, is the most notable free agent of the bunch. The 29-year-old sustained a torn Achilles tendon in the Panthers' Week 8 loss to the Buffalo Bills, and was lost for the remainder of the campaign. If he finds himself back to full health, Christensen should be a good under-the-radar grab for any team seeking depth and versatility on their offensive trench.
Christensen has taken snaps at every position on the line, with his most recent work coming at right guard. Curhan and Barnes also proved to be relatively valuable depth pieces for Carolina in 2025, with the former appearing in seven games and the latter recording three starts.
