The LSU Tigers gained a late commitment from player, MTSU Blue Raiders quarterback Kaden Martin.

The LSU Tigers are not yet done putting together their roster for this season, as they just gained a late commitment from MTSU Blue Raiders quarterback Kaden Martin on Friday night, per his Instagram ย post. It doesn't take much thinking to deduce why Martin ended up in Baton Rouge. He is the son of current Tigers offensive analyst and 1998 SEC championship-winning Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Tee Martin.

The two reunite after his father had been coaching in the NFL since 2021. The younger Martin no doubt has a very sharp football mind, given his lineage, but he has never stepped on the field throughout his career. It probably isn't in the plans for him to play much quarterback for LSU, but there is still value in having in the room.

At the very least, it's something easy to make a coach happy. The Atlanta, Georgia native was more known for his baseball skills and originally committed to the Miami Hurricanes in 2022 where he played in a few games before transferring to the ETSU Buccaneers. Since going to the Blue Raiders, he has mostly be a scout team player.

The Tigers quarterback room is now as follows: Sam Leavitt, Husan Longstreet, Landen Clark, Emile Picarella III and now Martin. Of those players, Martin has been in college the longest. He'll bring a lot of experience and leadership to the room.
