High school baseball, softball and soccer teams were in action.
BASEBALL Xavier 19, Green Bay East/West 3 GREEN BAY - The Hawks scored four runs in the third inning, four in the fifth and seven in the sixth in the victory over the Red Devils. With the win, the Hawks finish 12-2 in the Bay Conference for their first league title since 2006. Frankie Cavaiani was the winning pitcher for Xavier.
Matt Potter had three hits and three RBIs for Xavier. Quinn Comerford had four hits and two RBIs, Carter Hermus had four hits and three RBIs, and Evan Wittmann had three hits and two RBIs. Douglas Yates had a triple and an RBI for the DevilCats.
Beaver Dam 9, Appleton East 1 BEAVER DAM - The Golden Beavers scored nine runs in the sixth inning in the nonconference victory over the Patriots. Appleton East, which finished with three hits, got a double from Alex Thompson. Seymour 5, Denmark 3 DENMARK - The Thunder scored three runs in the second inning and two in the sixth inning in the nonconference win over the Vikings.
Caden Steffens had three hits, including a double, and drove in one run for Seymour. Brayden Banker pitched a complete game for the win. He allowed five hits, three runs (one earned), walked one and struck out five.
