Former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Darryl Peterson is set to make NFL and NBA history with his brother, Darryn.
Former Wisconsin Badgers linebacker Darryl Peterson is set to make history with his brother, Darryn. Darryn Peterson drew a ton of attention this year at Kansas, and he's nearly a guaranteed lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft. That said, his brother, Darryl, is gaining attention as well.
The 6-foot-1, 260-pound LB played in Madison from 2021-25 before signing with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent. Now, according to NBA. com's Krysten Peek , the two are set to become the first brothers to enter the NFL and NBA in the same year.
The milestone is an incredible one, and it sure makes up for the Badgers not having a single football player selected in this year's draft. In an interview with the New York Post , Darryn had the following to say about his brother, "A lot of people donโt know this, but my brother played football at Wisconsin. Heโs a really good football player and he just got signed with the LA Rams.
We grew up working and having the same dream, different sport and itโs just super cool to see him achieve his and me, hopefully next month, achieve mine. Darryn is a superstar in the making, so most of the time it feels like Darryl doesn't deserve enough credit. During his time in Wisconsin, he secured 137 total tackles, 78 of which were solo.
