THE SEVENTH TIME The next edition of AC Milan v Cagliari , on Sunday at 20:45 CEST at San Siro, will be Massimiliano Allegri's seventh in the dugout, when it comes to the fixture . As the Coach of the Sardi, he lost twice, 1-0 in February 2009 and 4-3 in November 2009. However, he has beaten the Sardinian side four times, in the four matches played at San Siro.

But the 4-3 from 17 years ago was truly spectacular , in that match, football was the real winner. The last meeting between AC Milan and Cagliari with Allegri on the away bench took place on Sunday 22 November 2009 at San Siro. It was the 13th round of the 2009/10 Serie A season.

It is remembered as one of the most spectacular and thrilling matches of that campaign, marked by constant momentum swings and the brilliance of the Brazilian duo Ronaldinho and Pato. Leonardo's AC Milan were in good form with the so-called 4-2-fantasy system, coming off the back of four wins and one draw, and they started well on that Sunday thanks to Seedorf breaking the deadlock straight away. Allegriโ€™s Cagliari responded with pride , bouncing back and temporarily turning the match around thanks to an equaliser from former Rossoneri striker Alessandro Matri and a goal from Lazzari.

However, before the interval, AC Milan turned the game back in their favour within just two minutes through a Borriello header and a stunning strike from Pato into the top corner. In the second half, Ronaldinho made it four from the penalty spot before substitute Nenรช opened the game back up, setting the score at the final 4-3. There were still 25 minutes left to play, but no further goals were scored.
