Manager Torey Lovullo and trainers quickly met with the outfielder, who had tears in his eyes, before he was eventually removed from the game. The moment was particularly concerning for D-Backs fans, as Gurriel Jr. had recently returned from an ACL injury that kept him out of action for nearly eight months.

However, the club later announced that the outfielder was dealing with hamstring tightness. Arizona Sports’ José M. Romero reports he will be day-to-day and have tests run on the hamstring.
