UIL playoffs: Wimberley makes state semifinals, 3 others to play Game 3 in regional finals

5 Central Texas high school baseball teams are still alive in the UIL playoffs. Wimberley joined Lake Travis in reaching the state semifinals.

Lake Travis reached the Class 6A Division I semifinals Thursday.

Hereโ€™s the roundup for Central Texas : Dripping Springs 11, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo 0 (6): Blake Cox struck out five in five no-hit innings and Cruz McBride hit a grand slam and finished with six RBIs as the Tigers won Game 2 to force a third game in the Class 6A Division II series. Breydan Madeley went 1-for-2 with two walks, a two-run double and two runs scored and Cade Sanders finished with two hits in other notable offense for Dripping Springs. Boerne Champion 6, Rouse 4: Joe Bury hit a three-run homer, Adolfo Erives had a sacrifice fly and Cristian Caro finished with two hits, but the Raiders fell in Game 2 of the Class 5A Division I series.

Rouse won Game 1 on Wednesday. Cedar Park 3, Sharyland 0: Dominic Naylor struck out 13 in 6 โ…” innings and Brandon Washburn had a two-run single as the Timberwolves won Game 2 to force a third game in the Class 5A Division II series. Kayaan Kotharia recorded the final out for Cedar Park.

Wimberley 10, Floresville 9: Dane Mignerey singled and eventually scored in the bottom of the eighth to give the Texans a walkoff win and series sweep in Class 4A Division II. Mignerey beat the throw home on a fielderโ€™s choice after reaching third on a passed ball and groundout. Maverick Jacobs went 2-for-4 with four RBIs, including a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh that forced extra innings.
