Huge Name to Be Left Off US World Cup Roster: Report
One of the most marketed and well-known faces on the U.S. men's national team will shockingly not be on the World Cup roster.
We’re only a few short weeks away from the United States of America’s Men’s National Team beginning their World Cup journey on home soil in Los Angeles against Paraguay, and tensions are on the rise as the team is set to announce the full roster on Tuesday. And while it won’t be official until early next week, players are already getting phone calls from manager Mauricio Pochettino about whether they will be representing their country at SoFi Stadium in three weeks. With players learning their fates, leaks are also expected, which happened Friday when The Athletic dropped a bombshell about some players who will play for the team at the World Cup and others who will be sidelined.

On the other end, with one surprise making it, it means another player many thought would make the roster has been left out.
That player is reportedly Diego Luna, who has not only been a constant for Pochettino over the last year with the U. S. team but also one of the most marketed faces during the lead-up to the big event.
The Mexican-American winger is one of the standouts in the MLS with Real Salt Lake and was considered a lock on the roster only a few short months ago, appearing in advertisements for the official World Cup jerseys and the road to the spectacle. As we get closer to Tuesday, more news should surface about which players will wear the red, white, and blue in June and which will only be blue next month.
