Bristol-Plymouth AD Mark Lebeda to step down at the end of school year

After half a decade at the helm of Bristol-Plymouth athletics, Mark Lebeda is moving on. On Friday, May 22, Lebeda announced via a post to the BP Tech Athletics Facebook page that he would be stepping down as athletic director for the Craftsmen at the end of the school year to become the athletic director at Westborough High School. “It has been an honor to serve as Athletic Director at Bristol-Plymouth over the past five years,” Lebeda wrote in the post, titled “Thank you Craftsmen family.

” “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such dedicated student-athletes, coaches and staff while helping grow and strengthen our athletic programs. ” Lebeda said the decision to leave B-P was difficult because of the relationships he’s built with people in the school community, but thanked all involved for their support, commitment and pride in Craftsmen athletics. ”I will always be appreciative of my time here and wish the entire community continued success in the future,” Lebeda wrote.

Lebeda took over as B-P’s athletic director and assistant disciplinarian in August 2021 after having previously served as athletic director at T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School in Pierson, FL. During his tenure, he oversaw several accomplishments and additions to the program, including joining the girls hockey co-op organized by East Bridgewater High School, a first Mayflower Large league title the Craftsmen in boys basketball since 1979 and multiple national cheerleading titles .

More recently, he promoted former B-P girls soccer captain and goalkeeper Brianna (Guaraldi) South to head coach, with her leading her former team to its first Mayflower Large title since 2016 and winning the MVADA Large state vocational championship this past fall. Lebeda also took on interim coaching duties for both the Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth hockey co-op and baseball during the 2024-25 school year. He has also overseen the logistics of hosting outdoor home games for Craftsmen during the ongoing construction of the new Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School.
