Ranking top 5 Heisman contenders for Penn State in 2026
Penn State has several players who could make a Heisman Trophy push this season, including quarterback Rocco Becht.
Right now, it may seem weird to consider Penn State as a school with Heisman candidates on the roster, but due to a potentially favorable schedule and Big 12 experience having transferred in, there is no reason to believe that at least one Nittany Lion could be headed to New York when all is said and done. While we may not quite know who, there is still a lot of talent that could end up surprising this season. Here are the to 5 Nittany Lions that could end up making a push for the most prestigious award in college football.
5. Quinton Martin Jr. , RB This ranking alone may seem a bit far-fetched as Martin may not even be expected to start for the Nittany Lions.
However, during spring practices, it was his explosiveness, burst, and vision that impressed the coaching staff. While he only had 20 carries last season for 103 yards, one only has to go back to Martin's high school days to see what he can bring to the table, as he rushed for 1,279 yards and 22 touchdowns in his junior season. Don't be surprised if Martin takes a big leap this season.
While it may not be enough to post Heisman numbers, he could be to this new generation of Penn State what Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen were throughout their illustrious careers. 4. Carson Hansen , RB This ranking is purely down to the outlook of the depth chart.
