May 22—JACKSONVILLE — The history of Hartselle baseball is as impressive and extensive as it gets. The Tigers added another state championship on Thursday following a 2-1 win over Spain Park, bringing the school's total to 11, which now ranks second in state history behind G. W.

Long's 17. Hartselle also holds the record for most wins in a season with 50 in 2009 and have played in five of the last six state finals. So when your program has that kind of history, it's hard to make a significant mark.

However, the 2026 Hartselle seniors have done just that. The seniors closed their careers Thursday with their third consecutive Class 6A state finals appearance and their second consecutive state championship. It's safe to say the group of seniors (Cruise Baker, Cole Miles, Cole Griffin, Asher Doepel, Brooks Harris, Connor Stiles, Chris Hutson, Cain Falciani, Carter Lee, Lachlan Kennedy, Will Sharp and Eli King) will be remembered in Hartselle for years to come.
