Yahoo Sports

It doesn't appear the Cardinals and Jacoby Brissett will come to terms on a new deal anytime soon.

The Arizona Cardinals are not close to resolving their contract situation with quarterback Jacoby Brissett. According to ESPN's Josh Weinfuss , the Cardinals and Brissett are "significantly" apart in their talks. Brissett is due to make almost $4.

9 million in salary in 2026 with another $510,000 in roster bonuses. Only $1. 5 million of his deal is guaranteed.

He is in the second year of the two-year contract he signed last year to be the Cardinals' backup quarterback. He has not shown up to the offseason program for the Cardinals, seeking a new multi-year contract that pays him like a starter, as first reported by Ian Rapoport. He started the final 12 games of the 2026 season.

The Cardinals were 1-11 in those games, but he set career-highs with 3,366 passing yards and 23 touchdown passes. Trey McBride and Michael Wilson set career-highs in receptions and receiving yards. He has been told he is expected to be the Cardinals' starting quarterback.
