Jordan Spieth and Scottie Scheffler to miss Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial
Jordan Spieth will miss the Charles Schwab Challenge for the first time, as Colonial Country Club celebrates 80 years.
Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, is celebrating its 80 th anniversary and marking eight decades as the PGA Tour’s longest running host venue for a non-major on Tour. The field, which was announced on Friday at 5 p. m.
ET, includes seven of the top 20 players in the Official World Golf Ranking, but for the first time in his career, past champion Jordan Spieth won’t be there. Spieth, a 13-time Tour winner and Dallas native, has a better track record at Colonial than at the Byron Nelson. He recorded a win in 2016, three seconds and four top 5s in 13 career starts.
But the last three years he missed the cut in 2023, the only time he failed to play the weekend, with a T-36 and T-37 the last two years. Spieth has played seven of the last eight weeks. World No.
1 Scottie Scheffler also opted to skip Colonial this year. He’s never won the event but has finished second twice and has four top 5s in six appearances. J.
