IPL 2026 | Only David Warner ahead! Ishan Kishan achieves rare milestone against RCB
Ishan Kishan continued his dominance against Royal Challengers Bengaluru with a 79, marking his fourth consecutive 50-plus score against them. Sunrisers Hyderabad's batting prowess was further evident with fifties from Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen, leading to a massive total and a record-breaking season for 200+ scores.
NEW DELHI:Ishan Kishan once again proved why he loves batting against Royal Challengers Bengaluru as the explosive Sunrisers Hyderabad left-hander continued his remarkable run against the defending champions during their IPL 2026 clash at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday. Kishan smashed a superb 79 off 46 balls and registered his fourth consecutive 50-plus score against RCB in IPL history. The knock further highlighted his dominance over Bengaluru’s bowling attack across multiple seasons.
Only two players now stand alongside or ahead of Kishan in the list of most consecutive 50-plus scores against RCB in IPL history. Former David Warner opener tops the chart with seven successive 50-plus scores against RCB between 2014 and 2016 - a record built during his peak years with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Former Kane Williamson captain had also scored four consecutive 50-plus scores against RCB from 2016 to 2019.
Kishan has now matched Williamson’s feat, achieving it between 2024 and 2026. Most consecutive 50+ scores vs RCB in IPL 7 — David Warner (2014-16) 4 — Kane Williamson (2016-19) 4* — Ishan Kishan (2024-26) Ishan Kishan’s in last 4 scores vs RCB 69 94* 80 79 – today Kishan was not alone in SRH’s batting carnage. Abhishek Sharma blasted 56, while Heinrich Klaasen hammered 51 as Hyderabad produced another breathtaking batting display.
This became only the third instance in IPL history where three SRH batters scored 50-plus runs in the same innings. The first such occurrence came against Punjab Kings in Mohali in 2017, while the second came against Mumbai Indians in Hyderabad in 2024. The latest feat against RCB underlined SRH’s batting depth and aggressive intent this season.
