The Kansas City Royals have signed a veteran reliever. The 34-year-old posted a 1. 98 ERA in 63.
2 innings with the World Series champion Atlanta Braves in 2021 and opted out of a deal with the New York Mets last week. According to an announcement made by the AL Central club, right-hander Luke Jackson has signed a minor league contract with the Royals. Jackson was left unsigned during spring training and did not pitch in a game until the first week of April with the Mets.
"Not too long ago, he was an important leverage arm in the big leagues. With Atlanta in 2021, he posted a 1. 98 ERA and recorded 31 holds," Darragh McDonald of MLB Trade Rumors wrote Friday.
