Strong baseball finish carries M-W to 5-5, second place tie

MADRID — Winning its last four games, Madrid-Waddington finished at 5-5 and in a four way tie for second place in the NAC East with a 5-5 record. Parrishville-Hopkinton led the division with a 10-0 record, while Heuvelton tops the NAC West at 12-0 and Canton earned a share of the Central Division crown at 9-3 with Massena via a 13-6 win over Potsdam on Thursday. M-W’s strong finish featured a 6-2 win over Tupper Lake on Thursday, an 11-6 win over Hermon-DeKalb on Tuesday and two forfeit wins over St.

Regis Falls which elected to end its season. M-W moved into the third Class D seed for the section 10 Tournament and Canton claimed the top Class B seed.
