Tupper Lake hands Canton first NAC golf loss, deadlocks title race

Tupper Lake handed Canton its first loss of the season and used a 200-205 victory to throw the NAC golf lead into a four-way tie Thursday. Tupper Lake, Canton, Massena and Potsdam all headed into the Memorial Day Weekend with one loss. Thursday‘s action featured season low performances through out the schedule where Malone downed Clifton-Fine 225-245 and Gouverneur (216) downed an incomplete Morristown team.

TL over Canton, N-N: Wyatt Trudeau (-3 32) shot his second straight under par round for the Lumberjacks who also received a 37 from Aiden Churco and a 36 from Graedyn Ellers. Dan Richardson led Canton with a 38 followed by Dan O’Neill 41, Eliza Creurer 41, Will McDonough 43 and Jackson Zebedee 45. Reilly Russell led N-N’s 271 with a 47.

Gouverneur over MCS: The Wildcats turned in a season best round led by JD Minckler’s 39, Gavin Tulley’s 41, 45s from Logan Lynde and Cash Newvine and a 46 from Lance Ayen 46. Coltyn Brooks 40, Wyatt Clement 43 and Grant Butler 45 and turned in fine rounds for Morristown. Malone over C-F: Ryan Patenaude and Tanner Andrews turned in rounds of 41 and 42 to lead the Huskies who will host the Section 10 Tournament.

Jonathan Scharf finished at 46 for Malone and Carter Brown continued his sustained excellence for C-F with a 38.
