Patriots insider predicts potential cut candidate ahead of OTAs
Could New England Patriots guard Caedan Wallace be on the bubble ahead of OTAs?
Training camp is getting closer, and analysts are predicting which New England Patriots players might get cut prior to the season. In a piece published by The Athletic's Chad Graff , via NESN's Cole Shelton , third-year offensive lineman Caedan Wallace was picked as a potential cut candidate. Wallace appeared in four games during the 2025 season, mostly in late-game situations or on special teams.
He was not a featured player in a Patriots offensive line that has undergone a significant rebuild. With the many new offensive line additions, Wallace's days could be numbered in New England. Graff wrote: โThe Patriots drafted Wallace in the third round two years ago with hopes that heโd develop into a starting tackle.
Then, a new coaching staff moved him to guard in an attempt to bring out the best in him. Neither approach has led to meaningful playing time, and now Wallace is on the roster bubble with a chance of becoming the latest player from the teamโs disastrous 2024 draft to be cut. Wallace played just eight offensive snaps last season.
โ The writing could be on the wall for Wallace's time with the Patriots. Jared Wilson is moving back to center, but the Patriots signed veteran guard Alijah Vera-Tucker to play across from Mike Onwenu. Wallace is left in a group of reserve options, but he hasn't done enough to even stand out in that group.
