The 30-year-old missed all of last season due to a variety of injuries and has yet to pitch this season as he recovers from right elbow inflammation. MassLive's Chris Cotillo reported that even though the Red Sox transferred Crawford to the 60-day injured list, the move doesn't impact his timetable as he's started "ramping up" toward a potential return. "Righty Kutter Crawford, who has not pitched yet this season, was transferred to the 60-day injured list to clear a 40-man roster spot for Guerrero," Cotillo wrote on Friday.
"That is a paper move that doesnโt impact Crawfordโs timetable for a potential return. "Their 40-man roster is once again full with Crawford joining Tanner Houck, Johan Oviedo, Patrick Sandoval, Triston Casas and Romy Gonzalez on the 60-day IL. Crawford had a setback with some arm tightness while pitching in a rehab game in April but has started ramping back up by playing catch.
