It was reported in early May that former Boston Celtics assistant coach Ben Sullivan had interviewed for the Portland Trail Blazers' head-coaching job.

Sullivan hasn't been reported to still be in contention for the job, but current Celtics assistant Tyler Lashbrook is reportedly among the final candidates. That's according to NBA insider Jake Fischer , who revealed details of Portland's coaching search on Friday. Lashbrook joined Boston ahead of the 2023-2024 season after previously spending nine years with the Philadelphia 76ers in various roles.

Lashbrook served as the head coach of the G League affiliate Maine Celtics during the 2024-25 campaign before joining Joe Mazzulla's bench crew. He joins a crowded group of reported candidates for the Trail Blazers' post, including Portland's interim head coach, Tiago Splitter. Fellow insider Marc Stein has also reported Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori as a contender for the post, and other insiders have named Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach Jeff Van Gundy and Utah Jazz assistant coach Mike Williams as candidates.

Golden State Warriors assistant and former two-time All-Star is reportedly scheduled to interview with the Trail Blazers next week as well, according to Fischer. More NBA: Former Celtics All-Star Hopes New Job Leads To Eventual Role As NBA GM
