It's not that nobody realizes the Montreal Canadiens captain is a strong defensive player. It's just one of those things that doesn't make highlight reels. But right now, as the Habs continue to make a special playoff push, Suzuki's defense is making an impact.
In the first round, Montreal slowed down Nikita Kucherov. In the second round, it was Buffalo's Tage Thompson and especially Alex Tuch who were off their usual pace. And in Game 1 against Carolina, Sebastian Aho was limited.
