According to Mundo Deportivo, Christensen has accepted Barca’s new offer which will see him take a pay cut on his current salary.

The Dane’s existing deal was due to expire at the end of the current season. Christensen is said to have had other offers from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia but only wanted to stay at Barcelona, while Hansi Flick reportedly still has plenty of faith in the Dane. The defender’s time at Barcelona has been disrupted by injury and he hasn’t played since December due to a serious knee injury.

Christensen is now fit again and will be hoping he can stay injury-free going forward. He is said to be determined to show what he do in pre-season and “wants to repay the faith” shown in him before Flick and Barcelona. Are Barcelona right to extend Christensen’s contract?
