Captain Karazor: Stuttgart have 'to go extra mile' to beat Bayern

VfB Stuttgart captain Atakan Karazor said that his team will "have to go the extra mile" to beat Bayern Munich in the German Cup final on Saturday. "We want to keep the cup in Stuttgart and we know what we're up against. Our opponents are Bayern Munich, so you have to go the extra mile.

But we don't need to hide. We're really fired up," he said in a news conference on Friday. Stuttgart are the defending champions but have lost all three matches against Bayern this season: the German Super Cup and both Bundesliga games.

Bayern have won the German Cup a record 20 times but are in the final for the first time in six years. Having won the Bundesliga they are seeking another domestic double. "We'll need an exceptional performance.

That's what we're aiming for, we need what you always need against Bayern," coach Sebastian Hoeness said. "Whilst fully aware of who our opponents are, we're very confident, because we enjoy these matches and have drawn a sense of achievement from them. That's in us, and we'll take it with us into tomorrow's match.
