Henry Ruggs III was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison in 2023.

Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III is seeking August parole years after a deadly crash that left a 23-year-old woman and her dog dead. Ruggs appealed to the Nevada Board of Parole on Monday, asking the board to give him โ€œ the privilege of parole so I can prove myself to everyone ,โ€ per AL. com.

During his appearance in front of the board, Ruggs said he thinks about Tina Tintorโ€™s death every single day, per AL. com. โ€œNot a minute goes by where I donโ€™t think of the pain I caused her family, her friends and the Las Vegas community,โ€ Ruggs told the board in video obtained by KTNV-TV.

โ€œIโ€™m a religious person and pray for her family daily. โ€ Ruggs was originally sentenced to three to 10 years in prison in 2023, two years after he was charged in the crash that killed Tintor. He pleaded guilty to one count of DUI resulting in death and one count of misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.

Ruggs was allegedly driving 156 mph with a blood-alcohol level of 0. 16 โ€” twice the legal limit in Nevada โ€” at the time of the crash. The Nevada Board of Parole is expected to make a decision by June 14.
