Millis and Norfolk Aggie are entering a two-year co-op agreement to bolster roster numbers and bring back sub-varsity play to build a foundation.

Millis an Norfolk Aggie will form a football co-op, Millis athletic director Derek Phinney announced Friday. The two-year program will begin in the fall. Millis will serve as the host school.

Norfolk Aggie previously did not offer football. Millis went 3-7 last fall and lost five of its last six games. "Like many small schools, Millis has faced declining roster numbers over the last few yeras," Phinney wrote in a relese.

"This partnership provides much needed roster sability, ensuring the program can safely and competitively field teams. " The program has operated at only the varsity level the past two years, and the co-op will allow sub-varsity play for younger players to learn and develop. The team will debut Septermber 12 against Blackstone-Millville.

"We are incredibly excited about this partnership and what it means for the future of football in Millis," Phinney wrote. "By bringing in Norfolk Aggie student athletes, we aren't just saving our varsity program, we are rebuilding the foundation.
