Kentucky will host a four-star guard in the 2027 class for a visit

The Kentucky Wildcats are working to set up visits with players in the 2027 recruiting class, and a four-star guard will be on that list.

The Kentucky Wildcats and coach Mark Pope failed to land any top recruits from the 2026 class, but are now working hard on the 2027 class. They have made a number of offers recently, and are now working to set up visits to Lexington. One of those will be guard Chase Lumpkin .

Per Jacob Polacheck of Kentucky Sports Radio, Lumpkin is planning visits to multiple schools, and Kentucky is one of them. He was offered back in April, and has stayed in contact with assistant coach Mo Williams, who Lumpkin spoke glowingly of. Lumpkin is a 6'4", 170 lb guard out of Georgia who has risen in the rankings after some terrific performances on the Nike EYBL circuit.

He's currently rated four stars and ranks as the No. 61 overall player by 247Sports. An official visit would be the next step for Lumpkin, but he has been on campus a few times previously.

He also complimented the Kentucky fans to Polacheck, and said he likes how Pope rotates his players. Plenty of other schools are in the mix for Lumpkin, including his home state Georgia Bulldogs , Louisville, and the Alabama Crimson Tide among others. He also noted that more schools were welcome to join his recruitment, and if he continues to shine, they will.
