How Kyle Busch fared at Michigan International Speedway
No current driver had more career starts at Michigan International Speedway than Kyle Busch. But that didn't always translate to success for Busch, who died Thursday at the age of 41 , from what his family said was a severe illness. Busch had four victories at MIS — one in the Cup Series, two in the Xfinity Series, and two in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Busch started 17th in the Pure Michigan 400, led for 22 laps, and defeated Jimmie Johnson after a late-race pass. Busch had nine top-five finishes among 14 in the top 10 at MIS in the Cup Series.
Busch finished eighth at MIS in the 2025 race, after starting in the second position. Busch led all active Cup drivers with 36 starts at MIS. Kyle Busch in NASCAR Xfinity Series at MIS Busch had a dramatic Xfinity Series victory at MIS in 2015.
In Busch's first race back from a broken right leg, he passed Chase Elliott for the lead on Lap 122 of 125 and held on to win the Great Clips 250. Busch made 15 Xfinity Series starts at MIS, with 12 top-10 finishes, including nine in the top five. Busch led for more than a combined 100 laps across the two victories, posting dominant victories. Busch had four top-five finishes among five in the top 10 in the truck series at MIS. Busch, who was expected to race this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, has 63 career victories in the NASCAR Cup Series, and a record 234 victories across the three circuits.
