The Boston Red Sox will begin a three-game home series against the Minnesota Twins on Friday, and the team will be honoring legendary pitcher Roger Clemens.
Boston is set to give away 7,500 bobbleheads to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his 20-strikeout game. However, the Red Sox honoring Clemens isn’t unusual, as he was inducted into the team’s Hall of Fame in 2014. Yet, Friday’s game will be unique, as Clemens’ son, Kody plays for Minnesota, and he’s excited to be in Boston to see the Red Sox honor his dad.
“They had to have planned this,” Kody Clemens said . “I knew they were going to do a bobblehead. But to pick the same weekend?
” Although Kody will be trying to help Minnesota beat Boston on a night the Red Sox are celebrating his dad, he knows the night will be special for Roger. “It’s red carpet,” Kody Clemens said. “It’s super cool for him to go back, and the fans love seeing him.
