Jake Paul gives savage verdict on Ilia Topuria after Ryan Garcia feud erupts
Photo by Megan Briggs/Getty Images for Netflix Jake Paul has waded into Ilia Topuria’s growing feud with Ryan Garcia, and his verdict on a possible boxing match was brutally clear. The exchange began after Topuria claimed he would feel comfortable fighting Garcia in boxing, prompting the WBC welterweight champion to tell the UFC champion to stay in his lane. The Spaniard then fired back by promising to give Garcia a boxing lesson, while also claiming he could beat Conor Benn in the same ring.
Jake Paul says Ryan Garcia would quickly stop Ilia Topuria Photo by Ed Mulholland/Zuffa LLC Paul did not let the exchange pass quietly. Writing on X last Thursday night, he said: “Ryan would sleep Topuria in 1-2 rounds. ” That comment carried extra bite because Paul already has his own history with Topuria.
The pair previously clashed during a heated exchange on Adin Ross’ livestream. A few months later, ‘The Problem Child’ dismissed a potential boxing fight with the Spaniard as a “warm-up”, making clear he did not see Topuria as a serious threat. His support for Garcia also comes with context.
Paul and Garcia have had their own back-and-forth after previously negotiating a potential fight. ‘King Ry’ later confirmed he rejected an offer worth between $20 million and $25 million to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer, choosing instead to chase Mario Barrios and the WBC welterweight title.
