NTT extends its partnership with IndyCar, bringing new AI features like 'Up To Speed' to fans for the Indianapolis 500.

IndyCar has retained NTT as the title sponsor of the series, the series announced Friday morning. The Japanese telecommunications company will continue to represent the largest open-wheel racing series in the United States. NTT became IndyCar's presenting sponsor in 2019, after Verizon held that title from 2014 to 2018.

This is the second extension the two companies have signed, as they also agreed to a deal in 2023. NTT is IndyCar's longest presenting sponsor to date. NTT and NTT Data Group will also expand their role to provide AI and data capabilities for IndyCar and Penske Entertainment, IndyCar's parent company.

"Our partnership has evolved from series-level analytics into an enterprise-wide AI and data intelligence collaboration," NTT CEO and president Akira Shimada said in a news release. "In addition to powering race-day analytics and enabling AI-driven intelligence that supports safety, sustainability and decision-making, NTT is applying data and AI at scale with our clients and partners to create a more connected, resilient and responsible future. " IndyCar and NTT are introducing "Up To Speed," an AI feature providing race insights and real-time data to fans, on the IndyCar app.

The feature is available now and will be active for Sunday's Indianapolis 500 . "Leading into another iconic edition of โ€˜The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,โ€™ we are thrilled to continue our world-class partnership with NTT,โ€ said Roger Penske, Penske Corporation's founder and chairman. โ€œTheir significant expertise as a global leader in AI, digital business and technology services is integral to how we build engagement across IndyCar's fanbase and provide a top-notch customer experience at the Racing Capital of the World.
