Isle of Man gears up for road racing season with Pre-TT Classic

Where and when you can catch the action in the 2026 precursor to the TT in the south of the island.

The road racing season on the Isle of Man is set to roar into action later with the start of the Pre-TT Classic. The three-day event in the south of the island is an immediate precursor to the Isle of Man TT itself, which gets underway on Monday. Organised by the Southern 100 club, the Pre-TT comprises 10 races across nine classes on closed public roads.

Road closures The 4. 25-mile (6. 8km) Billown Course itself runs along the A28 Bypass Road in Castletown, turning onto the Douglas Road, travelling onto Malew Road on the A3 at Cross Four Ways, before re-joining the Bypass Road.

Qualifying sessions Friday: 18:00 - 21:30 Saturday: 12:30 - 16:30 Race sessions Saturday: 18:00 - 21:30 Sunday: 13:00 - 18:00 Where to watch Grandstand seating is available at three locations - the start/finish line, the holding area - which also offers views of the podium, and Stadium Corner, which features a dedicated disabled viewing area along with disabled parking facilities in the paddock. If you prefer to watch from the hedges there are vantage points around the circuit at Ballakeighan Corner, Iron Gate, Ballabeg Hairpin, Cross Four Ways, Church Bends, Stadium Corner and Castletown Corner. Catering and toilets facilities are also available at several locations around the course.

Are drones allowed? A "no fly" zone covering airspace within and in the vicinity of the Billown Course – which applies to all drones, regardless of their weight or size – is in place from Friday to Sunday. Penalties for flouting the ban include a fine of up to £10,000.
