Other outlets suggest that the agreement is for €45m plus €5m in bonuses for a total €50m package. If this does prove to be the case, Atalanta will become one of the most expensive sales in Atalanta’s history.
The most expensive Dea departure remains that of Rasmus Hojlund to Manchester United in a deal reported to be worth €75m plus up to €10m in bonuses. Mateo Retegui joined Al-Qadsiah in a €62m deal last summer, Teun Koopmeiners joined Juventus for a total of €58m and Cristian Romero joined Tottenham for around €53m. Ederson has 30 appearances to his name in Serie A this season with two goals and an assist on his record, on top of another goal and assist from his nine outings in the Champions League this term.
He has been on Atalanta’s books for the last four seasons, having joined the club from Salernitana in 2022.
