Estevao's Recovery Takes a Steady Step
Estevao Willian is on the mend from a serious hamstring tear that sidelined him for months. The club hopes he'll be fit enough to contribute significantly to the pre-season tour of Australia and Asia.
Estevao Willian, Chelseaโs promising young winger, is making progress in his recovery from a serious hamstring tear that sidelined him for more than a month. The 18-year-old suffered the injury during a defeat by Manchester United at Stamford Bridge and was ruled out of the World Cup in Brazil. However, officials remain hopeful that Estevao will be able to contribute significantly to Chelsea's pre-season tour of Australia and Asia under new manager Xabi Alonso.
This is after positive rehabilitation efforts were made with Estevao granted over three weeks of leave to recover in Brazil before returning to support his teammates during the FA Cup final and the last few league matches of the season. The club anticipates a strong squad for this summer's pre-season, with a number of senior players not selected due to the World Cup tournament. Chelsea will play two matches in Australia before concluding their three-game series in Asia.
