Everblades set to defend home ice vs. Wheeling in ECHL conference finals

Cole Moberg’s first season in the International Central European Hockey League came to an ignominious end on March 1. His team, Innsbruck HC, had just suffered a 4-1 loss at Salzburg, cementing a 10-35-3-0 season, dead last in the league and 12 points behind the next team. But familiar voices from Southwest Florida had already reached him: "Come back to the Everblades!
" Moberg has been a popular defenseman in Estero since he first joined the team in 2022 and won two Kelly Cups. Fans like him. Players like him.
Head coach Brad Ralph likes him, and after his old Florida teammates tried to get Moberg to come back, it was the coach’s influence that convinced him to suit up and play some more hockey after the ICEHL season ended. “And then finally, Ralphie had reached out at the end of January, and once that happened, I was kind of like, all right. Let’s get the ball rolling here,” Moberg said.
“Let’s get this figured out so I can get back down here. ” Two days after that last game with Die Haie (the Sharks), Moberg signed a contract to rejoin the Florida Everblades, who will open the Eastern Conference Finals Friday, May 22, at 7:30 p. m.
