BREAKING: England’s final World Cup squad confirmed
BREAKING: England’s final World Cup squad confirmed This morning, Thomas Tuchel named his final England squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, his first tournament in charge of the Three Lions. Shock omissions from the squad include Morgan Gibbs-White, Harry Maguire, Jarrod Bowen and Lewis Hall, all of whom have had exceptional Premier League campaigns for their respective club and will be disappointed to miss out on the chance to represent their country this Summer. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Danny Welbeck did not make the cut, with the German preferring Ivan Toney alongside Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins in his frontline.
Manchester City’s Phil Foden has also not made the cut for Tuchel’s squad following a rocky season with the Cityzens, in which he registered just 12 goals and assists in 32 league games. Meanwhile, his teammate, Nico O’Reilly, has made his first tournament squad following a superb breakout campaign. Jordan Henderson is perhaps a surprise inclusion for many; this will be his seventh tournament appearance for England and his first inclusion since the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
