Despite a hard-fought Champions League setback against Paris Saint-Germain, the Bavarians have otherwise set the football world ablaze in Vincent Kompany’s second year as coach, scoring 122 Bundesliga goals en route to a comfortable league title win and returning to the DFB-Pokal Final for the first time since 2020. There, the Bayern men will face defending cup champion VfB Stuttgart.

It is a chance to equal the Bayern women’s accomplishment this season of a domestic double — and an end to the campaign that comes against the same opponent it all started against. “We started the season with the Supercup win against VfB — now we want to bring things full circle with a successful cup win against VfB,” Bayern sporting chief Max Eberl stated in comments captured by @iMiaSanMia. “The anticipation was already palpable after the semi-final against Leverkusen.

You can feel how the players, the fans, the whole club are longing for this final after a six-year absence. Now, of course, we want to make the game a success and bring the cup back to Munich. “After the women’s team already achieved the double, we now want to follow suit.
