The Premier League season draws to a close on Sunday with plenty still to play for on the final day. Arsenal have ended their long wait for a domestic title, but Champions League, Europa League and Conference League places have still to be resolved, while West Ham and Tottenham are fighting to avoid relegation. Here, the Press Association looks at seven memorable moments from an enthralling 2025-26 campaign.

Gunners end 22-year wait for title Arsenal were spared a nerve-shredding final day and celebrated their first Premier League title in 22 years on Tuesday night after Bournemouth held closest challengers Manchester City to a 1-1 draw at the Vitality Stadium. Two dropped points for City left them four adrift of the Gunners going into Sunday’s final fixtures, leaving Arsenal fans to party as their club were confirmed English champions for the first time since 2004. Dowman makes Premier League history Max Dowman became the Premier League’s all-time youngest goal scorer in March when he sealed Arsenal’s 2-0 home win against Everton, aged 16 years and 73 days.

The teenage midfielder side-stepped his way clear on the halfway line and ran on to slide the ball into an empty net for the Gunners ‘ second. He was already the youngest player in Premier League history – aged 15 years and 235 days – and is now also the youngest player to win the title. Milner sets new top-flight appearance record At the other end of the spectrum, Brighton’s evergreen James Milner set a new Premier League appearance record in February, aged 40.

The former England midfielder started his 654th top-flight match in the Seagulls’ 2-0 win at Brentford, surpassing Gareth Barry’s previous mark, almost 24 years since his first appearance for Leeds in 2002 when he became the Premier League’s second-youngest player at the time, aged 16 years and 309 days. Biggest VAR call in top flight yet? Video assistant referee Darren England and match official Chris Kavanagh combined to make arguably the biggest VAR call since its inception in 2019 during Arsenal’s 1-0 win at West Ham earlier this month.
