Some New York Yankees fans are going to totally disagree, while others are going to be in the same boat.

Right now, the New York Yankees have been one of the better teams in the American League, and with them getting healthier recently, the hope and expectation is that things are going to really start to figure themselves out. What some might disagree with, however, is moving on from prospects. I think the Yankees have found out over the past decade or so that they didn't move on from prospects at the right time and, as a result, were stuck with players who were hyped up and not as good as anyone expected.

A lot of organizations can say that, but it definitely seems like the Yankees were one of those teams that were impacted by that more than others. One guy that many are starting to call untouchable, however, even with the previous busts the Yankees have dealt with, is George Lombard Jr. I understand why the Yankees don't want to move on from Lombard, but I don't necessarily agree that any player should be off the table in New York right now.

“Admittedly this is a bit of a cop-out. But New York's system is so thin on impact position-player talent — and so comparatively deep in pitching — that I'd caution Brian Cashman against moving either of Lombard Jr. or Kilby.
