Area throwers do well at State Track and Field Championships

May 21—BISMARCK — Cody Berreth is now, officially, one of the best throwers in the state of North Dakota. The Jamestown High School senior, placed third in the shot put competition at the 2026 NDHSAA State Track and Field Championships on Thursday. Berreth threw his shot 56 feet, 4 inches.

Carrington's Andrew Matt won the Class B discus title with a mark of 163 feet, 7 inches while LaMoure/Litchville-Marion's Preston Arndt placed third in the event with 151 feet, 7 inches. Drew Thorpe of Ellendale also made the podium with a fifth-place mark of 149 feet. South Border's Cam Kemmet placed sixth in the event throwing 144 feet, 8 inches.

Norah DelaBarre of LaMoure/Litchville-Marion was named the state runner-up in discus. DelaBarre's mark was measured at 143-09. Class B Boys Discus 1.
