OZARK, Mo–The high school baseball playoffs continued Thursday night across the Show-Me State. The Class 6, District 6 semifinals were played in Ozark. In the first semifinal Ozark faced the eighth-seed Republic.

The Republic Tigers upset the top-seed Glendale in the quarterfinals earlier this week. Bottom of the first, Tigers trailing 1-0, when Luke Baer steps up and singles to left, Brody Julian scores and it’s 1-1. Next inning, the Ozark Tigers explode for three runs, Julian delivered one of them here with this RBI single to center to lead 4-1.

Republic clawed its way back in the fifth, Cooper Thomas’ seeing-eye-single pulled the visiting Tigers to within a run. But in the home half of the fifth, Ozarks added an insurance run, Trey Burton ropes this to left and Stanley Brice beats the throw home to make it 6-4. Top of the seventh, Repmo had the lead man on with nobody out, then Logan Kirkland induced a one-six-three double play and Ozark wins 6-4 to advance to the district championship game tomorrow against Kickapoo who beat Nixa in the other semifinal.
