Wayland senior Finn Bell became the all-time state leader in career kills after he put away 34 of them in a five-set win over Newton North on Thursday night. Bell now has 1,429 kills, breaking the previous mark set by Cambridge Rindge and Latin's Jalen Penrose, who totaled 1,422. "It felt like a fitting symbol of his sustained excellence over the last four years and the amazing person, leader, and player that he is," Wayland coach Phil George said in a text to the Daily News.
