Kenneth Weaver has experience as assistant at several Central Indiana programs. Hired to lead program for first time.

Kenneth Weaver is the new boys basketball coach at North Putnam. Weaver has experience as an assistant at several high schools, most recently Fishers the past two seasons. He started out coaching at Decatur Central in 2015 has since coached on the staffs at Ben Davis, Bishop Chatard and Mooresville.

He also spent two seasons as an assistant at Franklin College from 2022-24 and has several years of experience training college players. I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside an administration team that truly values player development, community, and what it takes to win in March,” Weaver said. “From the moment I sat down for the interview, I could feel how much everyone on the panel genuinely cared about the future of the program and getting this hire right.

” Weaver takes over a program that was led by Vince Brooks, who posted a 96-78 record in seven seasons. His contract was not renewed after back-to-back losing seasons. Weaver has coached under state championship winning coaches Garrett Winegar at Fishers and Don Carlisle at Ben Davis.

“I’ve been fortunate to work under coaches who have won state championships and others who have finished as state runner-up, while also having the opportunity to coach in two state championship games myself as an assistant,” he said. “Those experiences have taught me what high-level culture, preparation, and togetherness look like. Sometimes you can just feel when a place is aligned and ready to build something special — and that was the feeling I had throughout this entire process.
