Peru pounded out 15 hits with Madi Marino, Natalia Gushlaw and Sierra Geppner having extra base hits. Gushlaw and Marino had two with Gushlaw hitting two doubles and Marino having a triple. Irelynn Bateman pitched well for the Nighthawks with six strikeouts over four innings.
Saranac’s Elizabeth Recore, McKenzie Hanson and Emma Duquette had a double each. “Peru looked very good and played that way,” Spartan head coach Sam Campbell said. “They hit the ball very well and with power, ran the bases smartly and did a fantastic job on defense.
