The move stunned the baseball world from Boston and beyond, including in Worcester where Chad Tracy was elevated to interim manager to replace Cora. Worcester third base coach Iggy Suarez took over as acting manager following Tracy's departure. "It's a shock, just how everything went down," Suarez told NBC Sports Boston .
"I'm not surprised that it's Chad Tracy getting the opportunity. I'm happy for him. I've kind of been on his hip for the last year and a half, seeing how he goes about his process and what he does.
It's good to see how he works. There's no better guy right now to be in that position. " The Red Sox have improved thus far under Tracy, going 12-10 after a 10-17 start with Cora this year.
